Pedodontics (Pediatric Dentistry)
A Latin term, “Pedodontics”, consists of the words “pedo” meaning “child” and “donti” meaning tooth”. It is a department of pediatric dentistry, in which protective measures are far important.
Pedodontics is a branch of dentistry dealing with the oral and dental health of infants, toddlers and children within the period from the birth until the age of 13, as well as the disabled individuals. Since child development is different in each individual, the upper age limit can be increased up to 14-15. Applications for the protection of baby teeth and permanent teeth of infants and children are widely implemented.
