This is a treatment type used to replace the missing teeth or restore the aesthetics in the teeth are entirely lost, worn, decayed or suffering tissue damage. In metal supported crowns, the tooth must have sufficient structure for veneer application. Root canal treatment is applied in the teeth, the crown of which is not supported and post & core is performed in the canal to support the crown application.

What are the possible problems?

No tenderness or discomfort is felt once the crowns are glued. If pain or tenderness is felt when biting, any problem caused by the humped crown is easily removed by the dentist.

In rarely seen porcelain tooth fractures, the crowns are repaired inside the mouth if the fracture is small. Larger fractures may require replacement of the crown.
